Hello friends! Karla back today with a pretty mixed media card - perfect for a birthday or to give to a special girlfriend! I am absolutely loving the colours and patterns in the New Pam Bray Simplicity Paper Pack and I thought they went beautifully with the Play In The Dirt Collection! I chose some Distress Oxide Ink colours that complimented the papers and images and stencilled a background using the Honeycomb Flair Stencil. This is such a beautiful stencil, and I love the random areas of honeycombs!! I diecut out the stencilled background and layered it over a cardbase of the Simplicity patterned paper.
I chose a butterfly from the Play In The Dirt Garden Ephemera Pack and added an oval cut from one of the 3x4 cards in the Card Pack. I actually cut out the inside of the Simplicity Paper rectangle card base and used it to add a scalloped oval on the front ;) Then, I stamped the mushroom and leaves from the wonderful 4x4 Garden Stamps and coloured them in with Copic Markers, adding some white gel pen highlights.
To finish off the card I used white embossing powder to heat emboss a sentiment from the stamp set on a scalloped circle diecut. I tied some matching twine and lastly added some coordinating sequins from the Play In The Dirt Sequin Pack! I just love how I can use these wonderful products for both scrapbooking and cardmaking!
