Take the Road Less Traveled Altered Frame by Katelyn

Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! I'm thrilled to be back on the blog today as I've been playing with one of the four new collections that was released last month. The Road Trip collection is perfect for scrapbooking your road trip photos as well as home decor projects. My Take the Road Less Traveled Altered Frame is the perfect addition to any place in home. To create the frame, you'll need the Paper Pack, Card Pack, Ephemera and Flair from the Road Trip Collection. Grab a cup of your favourite summer time beverage and learn how to recreate my altered frame at home.
To start, you'll need a 7" x 9" White frame.
From the word paper, cut a piece that measures 5" x 7". Distress the edges of the paper. Die cut one of the Celebration Flags out of the same patterned paper. Ink the edges of the paper and the flags using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the diamond paper, cut a piece that measures 4 1/2" x 6 1/2".  Distress the edges of the paper. Die cut one of the Celebration Flags out of the same patterned paper. Ink the edges of the paper and the flags using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Cut a piece from the Compass paper that measures 4 1/4" x 6 1/4".  Distress the edges of the paper. Ink the edges of the paper and the flags using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Map paper, cut a piece that measures 4 5/8" x 6 5/8". Flip the paper over and cut a piece that measures 3" x 5".  Distress the edges of the paper. From the same patterned paper, die cut one of the Celebration Flags out of it. Ink the edges of the paper and the flags using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Cut the "Freedom" card from the cut apart paper. Distress the edges. Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose two of the border strips from the bottom of the papers. Cut one border strip to 4 1/4". Cut the other border strip to 4". Distress the edges of both strips. Ink the edges of both strips using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Card pack, you'll need the large license plate card and mountain card. The small arrow card, orange card, yellow card, lighthouse card and van card. Cut the license plate card down to 4". Cut the orange card down to 2 7/8" x 3 7/8". Cut the yellow card down to 2 3/4" x 3 3/4". Distress the edges of the three previous cards as well as the arrow card. Fussy cut the mountains out and cut the mountains down to 5". Fussy cut the van and lighthouse out of the cards. Ink the edges of all of the pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Out of the Ephemera Pack, you'll need the Canada word, compass, yellow sign, three arrows, map and four license plates in varying sizes. You'll need to fussy cut around the compass, yellow sign, license plates, arrows and map. Ink the edges of the pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose one of the Flair buttons from the package.
Adhere the map paper to the word paper.
Foam square the diamond paper to the map paper. Adhere the compass paper to the diamond paper. Adhere the yellow sign 1" from the top and 1" from the left of diamond paper. Adhere the red patterned paper 3/4" from the top and 1 1/4" from the left of the diamond paper.

Adhere the orange card to the arrow card. Adhere the yellow card to the orange card. Adhere the arrow card to the middle of the license plate paper. Adhere the 4 1/4" strip underneath the traveled word on the yellow card. Adhere the 4" strip slightly overtop of the 4 1/4" strip.
