Hi friends!
This past weekend, I went to a scrapbooking crop event with a group of friends and had the best time! If you haven't ever attended a retreat, I highly recommend it! It is absolutely so inspiring to be surrounded by other creatives. For that event, I decided to take my Child at Heart collection with me for some fun layouts. This layout that I created was a quick and easy one but I just love the look and combination of patterns that I was able to create.
I started out with a hexagon punch and the 12x12 paper pack and punched a whole bunch of shapes for the background design. In order to tie everything together, I used some black ink on the edges of both my background paper and all of those individual hexagons. I then took some coordinating colors of cardstock and created a strip down the center of my layout for my photos to live on.
I created a bunch of layers under my main photo in order to make sure that that photo was emphasized and really popped. I am obsessed with my notebook edge punch right now so, of course, I had to include a layer of that under the photo and I just love the look that it creates.
I then used one scrap piece of patterned paper as well as one of the pocket cards to cut my own tags for the bottom of the layout. This is where my journaling is going to go! I also added a couple of die cuts including that amazing "sibling rivalry" one. Is anyone else with me needing like sixteen thousand of that one die cut?!? I also used a die cut for the title which I centered at the top of the page with some foam tabs.
To finish out the layout, I used the little star stamp from the stamp set that coordinates with Child at Heart as well as a few little bright orange sequins.
I hope that you enjoyed seeing my first layout using the Child at Heart collection and I cannot wait to see what you guys are creating with this collection. It is definitely one of my favorites!
