Pinterest Inspired layout by Jenn

Hello, Jenn here!!!  This month I am playing along with Crystal, from Pineapple Papers and a few of her scrappy friends, as she creates 30 days of Pinterest inspired projects.  I just love taking some time to look through my hoards of pins and finding something to inspire me.  This time my eye caught on this amazing layout by Haley Michelle.  It is so simple, but so stunning!!!  I think this is one I will scraplift over and over again.

My layout came together so quickly.  I started with some grey cardstock and a photo from my 2017 Cross-Canada album.  I lightly drew a few ideas on the back of the photo to cut it into the mountain shapes, but in the end I decided that it wasn't going to look right if I cut it out, so I chose to keep it as a 4x6.  I'd really like to try this design again with a picture that can be cut.  In the meantime, I pulled out several Wild Whisper stamp sets to create the stamping in the background.  I chose stamps from Adventure, Out and About, Road Trip, and Strong and Free and placed them all on a long stamping block, then used white ink to stamp them repeatedly over the entire background.

I chose a 4x6 journal card from the More Adventures card pack to act as my 'mirrored' image to the photo, and trimmed it slightly so that I could matte it on some white cardstock to give it a white border like the picture.  I placed the photo and the journal card closer to the top of the layout, with the picture a little more to the left hand side and the card a little more to the right.  I left just enough room in between them to place a row of arrows from the Adventure ephemera pack.  I also added two little phrases to the top of the picture with a wood veneer, and another wood veneer piece to the bottom of the journal card.  Lastly, I drew a border around the whole layout with a white marker.

It's so simple, but that's what I love about it the most.  The combination of different stamp sets with their unique styles gives the background lots of detail and insterest, and the grey cardstock really allows the colours in the picture and journal card to pop.  It just doesn't need anything else.  If you'd like to see how I brought this all together, check out the process video on my channel!!!  And remember to use the discount code DTJENN at checkout to get 10% off your next purchase in the store.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Until next time, Happy Scrapping :D
