Hello friends! It's Katelyn here and I am back with a super sparkly layout featuring the Wild Whimsy collection! This layout was super fun to make and I will be using more glitter on my layouts with this technique in the future.
I used the teal scalloped patterned paper from the Wild Whimsy collection as my background. The two photos I am highlighting on this layout are photos from a trip we took to Alexandria Bay of Boldt Castle. This isn't the castle itself, but it is one of the maintenance buildings accompanying the castle. When I look at the windows and the stonework, I just instantly thought that this is where mermaid must live.
My photos are mounted on the orange flower patterned paper and the jewel patterned paper from the same collection. I even used the shell branding strip as a small layer under my photo.
I hand cut out a bunch of these floral and gem pieces from the coordinating patterned papers to use as embellishments all over my layout. To add more mermaid-esque elements to my layout, I of course had to break out some sequins and glitter! The method for adding this glitter and these tiny sequins safely to your layout is better explained in my process video.
Since I am mimicking mermaid qualities, I also had to include a mermaid! This adorable mermaid is from one of the Wild Whisper cards coordinating with the Wild Whimsy collection. I put her next to my journaling card from the same set.
To finish off this layout, I laid these American Crafts glitter stickers. I paired a couple more cut out pieces and some more glitter to finish it off. I hope you all enjoyed and try out some glitter on your layouts soon!
