Home for the Holidays is HERE! Cathy shares a Card!

Hello all! It seems that this release has come at the perfect time for those of us living in Calgary - we just had a onslaught of snow and it is still coming down. I am happy to be typing away from inside my home with a warm mug of tea - and I think that is what this collection, Home for the Holidays, is really all about!
Here is our description of it: The Home for the Holidays collection, co-designed with Tori Bissell, celebrates the winter months! It is perfect for scrapbooking your daily activities in December, documenting holiday memories, or creating unique celebratory cards. We took inspiration from our cold Northern winters, our cozy and warm homes, and traditional Christmas icons to create this collection.
To see all of the details for each product, please check them out here! We have all of our usual products including 12x12 paper, pocket cards, sequins, and a traveller's notebook insert. The wood veneers will be coming soon and we can't wait to share those too!
As always, Spiegelmom Scraps has created this gorgeous mix to coordinate with our designs! We just adore it and the tiny stars are the perfect touch.
We have to admit to already digging in to this awesome stamp set! It is irresistible and has so many versatile elements including the mandala and the little labels! Of course the traveller's notebook insert below will be perfect for documenting any wintery activities! It might even be a great way to do a December Daily!
After that introduction to our brand new collection, we are very pleased to have Cathy Potosky on the blog today! She is sharing the first project for the month and we will let her take it from here!
Yes it is that time of year already! Time to be thinking about Christmas and cards and gifts and decorating. Good thing Wild Whisper has this amazing Home for the Holidays collection, you can use it for all of the above!!
I love Christmas and making Christmas cards and I really should start in July! But so excited to have the Home for the Holidays collection to work with right now. Here is my flip out card.
For my first project I did a flip out card. It all started with a plain piece of 12X12 cardstock, some scoring and then cutting out the corners to end up with this.
I decided on the ornament paper as my base layer, so I cut 5 pieces for my tabs and inked the edges in Black Soot. I also used the super adorable Christmas tree card for my center tabs.
For the inside of the card I stamped the gorgeous doily image and some of the sentiments in Distress Fired Brick.
Assembling the card was pretty straight forward, just make sure your design is going in the right direction, don't ask how I know LOL
For the strips on the first opening layer, I just used the back of the branding strips from my 12X12 paper.  The blue ornament and the heaven and nature sing hexagon are cut out from the card pack. It is so hard to choose images sometimes because I love them all!
Also on the front of the card, I fussy cut ornaments out, stamped them with the small words (this size is so great, I love how they fit in the stamp borders that come with the set and on the small ornaments and they would be great on little gift tags too). I attached them with pop dots for dimension.
Thank you for stopping by to check out the brand new Home for the Holidays collection! Have a great day everyone!
