Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! For today's project, I've created this fun Hit the Books Bookmark. To create my bookmark, you'll need the brand new One More Chapter Collection. Grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my bookmark at home.
To start, you'll need the coloured book paper from the One More Chapter Paper Pack. Die cut a 1 3/4" Diagonal Stitched Fishtail out of the patterned paper. Flip the paper over and fussy cut a stack of books, three stars and cut the Hit the Books into a strip. Ink the edges of all of the pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the number patterned paper, die cut a 1 1/2" Diagonal Stitched Fishtail. Flip the patterned paper over and fussy cut two stars out. Ink the edges of the fishtail and stars using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Fussy cut two pens and one pencil out of the pens and pencils patterned paper. Ink the edges of all three images using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Fussy cut three pencils out of the pencil patterned paper. Ink the edges of all three pencils using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Adhere the 1 1/2" fishtail to the 1 3/4" fishtail.
On the top right side of the fishtails, adhere the three pencils and one of the pens as desired.
Adhere the remaining pen and pencil 7/8" from the bottom of the 1 1/2" fishtail as desired. Trim the ends of the pen and pencil as desired. Make sure to reink the edges of the pen and pencil using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Adhere the book stack overtop of where the pens and pencils meet. Adhere the Hit the Books strip to the bottom left hand side of the book stack as desired.
Adhere the five stars as desired on the bookmark.
Punch a hole at the top of the 1 1/2" fishtail. To finish the bookmark, tie a piece of twine through the hole.
Here are a few closeup photos of the finished bookmark.
