Happy Tails Mini Album

Hi everyone,  I'm so happy to be back with a cute little project today using the Happy Tails collection.

Starting from the age of 4, I have been blessed over my lifetime to have shared, and continue to share, my life with many different pet dogs.  They have all been special and each one has taught me new lessons.

This paper collection is so cute, that I decided to make a mini-album containing my favorite photos of each dog.  Not all are mine, but I have loved the dogs my parents had, and also my daughter's current dog, so I have included them in this album as well.

*Note... I have chosen to focus on the dog themes in this collection, but for all you cat lovers there are many pieces and papers that you could use for your favorite cat friends as well.

I was inspired to make this album, by one that was done by Paige Taylor Evans.  You can see hers here

For the cover page, I began by die cutting a few pieces out of white 100# cardstock.

I layered the doily, some cheesecloth, a wreath, and then this cute image from the ephemera package. You will see throughout the album, that I used a lot of the ephemera pieces to decorate the pages.

To create this album, you cut 6 pieces of patterned paper plus a 6x8 sheet protector, score them in the middle, stack them on top of each other, poke holes down the center and then sew the papers together.  (Paige has a template for poking the holes on her page). It really is a very simple process.  Once the album is sewn together, then you staple 12" lengths of ribbon to the front and back covers.

Here are the dimensions I cut my papers at (they are a little bit different from Paige's.):

1.  Outer piece, cut at 10 x 7”, score at 5” from the left side.

2.  2nd piece, cut at 10 x 5”, score at 5” from the left side.

3.  3rd piece, trace and cut out a 7” circle, score it at 3 ½” from the left side.

4.  4th piece, cut at 9 x 4.5", score at 4.5" from the left side.

5.  5th piece, cut at 8 x 4”, score at 4” from the left side.

6.  Trim off the holed edge from a 6x8" pocket page protector. Don't trim off the fused part.  (I used one with two 4x6 pockets, Paige used one with twelve 2" square pockets.)  Turn it horizontally, then score down the middle at 4 ½”.

8.  4 page fold-out.  To make the fold-out, I cut a 4" strip of paper 12" wide.  Scored it every 3 inches, and then glued 4 of the 3x4" pocket cards from the card pack, to it.

I will share the pages of my album below.  If you would like to make one of your own, I would suggest watching Paige's youtube, as she shows you how she put hers together, and then you can adapt it to your own craft materials as I did.

Below, this is the fold-out opened up.  There is room for 3 more photos on it yet.

When you close the fold-up, and turn the page, this is what you see.  Again, in the page protector for page 12, I used another 4x6 card from the card pack.

Aren't these puppies in the collection, the cutest ever!  They are images of Heather and Suzie's own dogs!
