Hello Foodies, Jenn here with another layout using the Talk Foodie to Me collection :)  This week I really wanted to pull out the Talk Foodie to Me stamp set and make my own embellishments to go along with some pictures of an Oktoberfest beer and food event from last year.

I started by stamping the full image of the beer stein on some white cardstock with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in fossilized amber.  I wanted to give my beer steins a layers look so I chose to stamp the outline on vellum, and after experimenting with different ink colours, I decided the look I liked best was white heat embossing.  To add some foam to the top of my beer, after fussy cutting my outlines, I smooshed their tops along the embossing ink pad, then dipped them into the embossing powder and heat set them.  I fussy cut the backgrounds out as well, and then layered them together.  I made two this way and then for the third one that I stamped, I wanted to try something a little different.  Instead of stamping the outline of the beer stein, I added some beer foam to the top using the same method from the other two, then filled in the mug with the different gold sequins from the Talk Foodie to Me sequins pack.  I love how my little beer embellishments came together!

To put the layout together, I added some layers behind my photos, with the blue mason jar paper, and the red 6x4 card from the card pack.  I also added some vellum to the layers which helps to connect the homemade embellishments to the photos.  I cut a strip from the black and white 'happy hour' paper to ground my photo cluster on the page.  I gutted the St Thomas Bay Rum paper so that I could use it as the frame around my layout, and still be able to use the other side on another project.  Because I used plain white cardstock for my background I decided to smoosh a little bit of red watercolour where my three embellishment clusters will be built to add some interest into the background.

I chose three of the black and white glasses from the ephemera pack for each embellishment cluster, and layered them with a piece of the blue mason jar paper, one of my homemade beer stein embellishments, and a flair (one from the collection and two from Michaels).  I chose to put the sequined beer stein with the photos to keep the focus on them.  Finally, I added a title with some gold letter stickers, then scattered some blue sequins and gold enamel dots around the page.  I love how this layout turned!  The simple primary colours are so striking against the black and white of the background, and keeping the embellishments to just a few repeating images means that the homemade beer steins can really stand out.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!  If you would like to see how this layout came together please head over to my Youtube channel for the process video.  You can use my discount code DTJENN at checkout for 10% off your next purchase.  Until next time, Happy Scrapping :)
