Camp More, Worry Less Mini Album by Jenn

Hello, Jenn here!  Happy New Year!!!  I hope you all had a lovely holiday season :)  Today I am sharing a mini album I created using the Camp More, Worry Less collection to document our summer adventure in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta.  I found two pieces of chipboard in my stash that would make perfect covers for my little album and then got to work looking through the 12x12 papers, the journal card pack, and the ephemera to pull the album together.  I don't have the pictures printed for this trip yet, so I focused on creating fun base pages that I can add my pictures to when they are ready.

I used the covers as a guide for cutting my page sizes and I made sure to cut some pages larger which let me create folds so the page can be opened.  I think this adds a lot of interest to a mini album by creating interactive pages, and also gives you more space for pictures or journalling!!!  This works really great when both sides of the paper have patterns that you really like and want to use.

Once I picked all my 12x12 papers and cut them down to size, I went through the journal card pack and chose some 6x4 cards to be additional pages, and some 4x3 cards to add to the pages I have already cut.  Some of them will be used as mattes for photos, while others provide a good place to add some journalling.  I left a couple adhered only on one side so that I could maybe create a pocket or tip-in once I have my pictures and know how I want to place them on each page.  I created a pocket with one of them that I can add some tags or pictures into as well, creating another interactive element to the album.  I also used a piece from the 12x12 cut apart sheet to creat a little tip-in.  I use washi tape to attach the card to the main page, and make sure to add extra adhesive to give the washi tape some extra strength since I know it will get flipped back and forth often.

My next step was to go through the ephemera pack to look for a few pieces I could use to create embellishement clusters on some of the pages.  I didn't add embellishments to every page because I don't have the pictures yet, but I did go through the ephemera and also pick out a few embellishments that I know I will want to use once I have the pictures.

One thing I really love about mini albums is how tactile they can be.  It's really fun to add texture and dimension to your album, along with interactive elements, to give you a really fun experience as you go through the album.  I smooshed some texture paste through the bear stencil to create a textured page to use.  I added one little drop of green mist to the texture paste and spread that around with my palettle knife, careful not to fully mix the colour, but just let it streak, and then I added one drop of navy blue mist and did the same thing.  The effect is amazing!  Each bear is completely unique, with some being more white, others being more blue or green, and my favourites have both blue and green!!!  I love this technique and can't wait to try it again.

The branding strips at the bottom of each 12x12 page are another great element you can use to add embellishement, tip-ins, and I even created a band across one page, where I can slip in some tags and pictures.

The last fun element I created was a shaker pocket.  I added some foam around the outside edge of a 6x4 card, and then filled the space with some Wild Whisper sequins and the stars and moon ephemera from the ephemera pack.  I added some acetate to cover the sequins and then some washi tape around the edge to hide the foam.  I can add a picture on top of the acetate, or just leave it the way it is, but either way it makes a really fun page in the album.

I really enjoyed the whole process of putting this album together and I'm very much looking forward to adding in my pictures and completing the album.  If you'd like to see how I brought everything together, please check out my process video up on my channel  https://www.youtube.com/user/Kaezmum :)  And if you love this collection as much as I do, please use my discount code DTJENN at checkout to get 10% off of this and all the other Wild Whisper products you love!!!  Thank you so much for stopping by and until next time, Happy Scrapping :D
