Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! I've been busy playing with the new collections and for todays project, I've created this Adventure Home Decor Piece. This piece is perfect to add to any area of your home. To create my home decor piece, you'll need the new Adventure Collection. Grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my piece at home.
To start, you'll need the turquoise wood paper from the Adventure 12x12 Paper Pack. Cut a piece that measures 4 5/8" x 4 5/8". Flip the paper over and cut four pieces that measure 1/2" x 4 5/8". Distress the edges of all of the pieces. Ink the edges of all of the pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Next, you'll need the triangle paper. Cut a piece that measures 4 1/8" x 4 1/8". Distress the edges of the paper. Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the grey/black wood paper, cut one piece that measures 4 5/8" x 4 5/8". Flip the paper over and cut a piece that measures 4 3/8" x 4 3/8". Distress the edges of the papers. Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Die cut a 3 1/4" Stitched Square out of the green splatter paper. Distress the edges of the square. Ink the edges of the square using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose two border strips from the bottom of the papers. Cut one border strip to 4 3/8". Cut the other border strip to 4". Ink the edges of the border strips using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the cut apart paper, fussy cut the leaf out. Ink the edges of the leaf using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Out of the Adventure Card Pack, you'll need the 3" x 4" "When you're a mountain person" quote. Die cut a 2 3/4" Stitched Square out of the quote. Fussy cut the mountains from the bottom of the card out. Distress the edges of the square. Ink the edges of the square and mountains using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose one Flair button from the Adventure Flair Pack.
From the Adventure Ephemera you'll need the sign, wood bear, one large wood round, two small wood rounds, three wood corners four arrows and one label. Fussy cut all the pieces out. Cut the large wood round in half. Ink the edges of all of the pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Next you'll need a 4 7/8" wood square. Paint the entire piece using Black Gesso. Set aside to dry.
Once the square has dried, choose one side to adhere the turquoise wood paper to.
Adhere the 1/2" strips to all four edges of the square.
Adhere the grey/black wood paper to the other side of the square. Adhere the plaid paper to the grey/black wood paper. Adhere the triangle paper to the plaid paper.
Adhere one half of the wood round 7/8" from the top right of the 2 3/4" square. Adhere the other half of the wood round 5/8" from the top left of the 2 3/4" square. Adhere the 2 3/4" stitched square to the 3 1/4" stitched square. Adhere the three wood corners to the top left, top right and bottom left corners of the 3 1/4" stitched square. Foam square the 3 1/4" stitched square 3/8" from the top of the triangle paper and all the way to the left hand side of the triangle paper.
Adhere the leaf underneath the right hand side of the 3 1/4" stitched square. Adhere the label to the top right side of the 3 1/4" stitched square as desired.
Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the 4 3/8" border strip 1/2" from the bottom and all the way to the right hand side of the triangle paper. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the 4" border strip 1/8" from the bottom and all the way to the right hand side of the triangle paper. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the sign 1/8" from the bottom of the triangle paper. Adhere the small wood round underneath the sign as desired. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the bear slightly overtop of the sign, it will hang over the square piece.
Adhere the other small wood round underneath the bears belly. Adhere two of the arrows to the middle of the border strips. Adhere the mountains overtop of the bottom of the bear.
Adhere the flair button to the bottom left of the quote. Adhere an arrow to the left of the quote square, sitting on top of the wood round. Adhere the remaining arrow to the top portion of the square by the label as desired.
