Treasure the Moment Art Journal Page by Katelyn

Hey Wild Whisper Fans and a Happy New Year to you all, Katelyn here! I'm thrilled to be on the blog today sharing my Treasure the Moment Art Journal Page. To create my page, you'll need the brand new Botanic Stamp Set from Nicole Wright Designs as well as the tamps from the Rooted Love, Adventure and Child at Heart collections. Grab a cup of your favourite winter beverage and learn how to recreate my art journal page at home.
To start, you'll need your art journal. Choose three stencils. Place one stencil and put Turquoise Heavy Body Acrylic Paint using a blending tool with foam through the stencil as desired. Move the stencil around where ever desired.  Place the second stencil and put Lime Heavy Body Acrylic Paint using a blending tool with foam through the stencil as desired. Move the stencil around where ever desired.  Place the last stencil and put Blushing Heavy Body Acrylic Paint using a blending tool with foam through the stencil as desired. Move the stencil around where ever desired.
Once the paint has dried, then we can do the stamping. From the Adventure stamp set, choose one of the wood stumps. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the stump and stamp randomly on the page on the page. From the Rooted Love stamp set, you'll need the x's border and both splatters. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the first splatter and stamp nine times on the page. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the other splatter stamp and stamp five times on the page. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the x's border stamp and stamp eleven times on the page. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed.
Choose a couple of your favourite washi tapes. Stick a piece of each washi tape in the bottom right hand side of the right page.  Stick a piece of each washi tape in the top left hand side of the left page. Run a Black Soot Distress Crayon along the edges of the page and rub the crayon in with your finger.
For the next couple of steps, you'll need the Botanic stamps set. From the stamp set, you'll need the floral bunch. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the flower bunch and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. To colour the flower bunch, use Scribble Sticks from Set 1 & 2 and a waterbrush. Once the image has dried, fussy cut it out. Ink the edges of the flower bunch using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Start by tracing a 5" circle die onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the four foliage stamp and start stamping on one side of the circle. Reapply ink to the stamp each time before stamp onto the circle. Basically you want to created a foliage wreath out of the stamp. Colour the foliage wreath using the green from the Sribble Stick 1 set and a waterbrush. Once the foliage has dried, fussy cut the foliage wreath out. Ink the edges of the wreath using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the single flower stamp and stamp onto a piece of watercolour paper. Repeat the previous step eight more times. Colour each flower in using the Blush Scribble Stick from set 2 and a waterbrush. Once the flowers have dried, fussy cut all nine flowers out. Ink the edges of the flowers using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
The last stamp you'll need is the leaf stamp. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the leaf stamp and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Repeat the previous step four more times. Colour the leaves in using the Evergreen Scribble Stick from Set 2. Once the leaves have dried, fussy cut them out. Ink the edges of each leaf using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Child at Heart stamp set, you'll need the Treasure the Moment sentiment. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the sentiment and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Cut the sentiment into two strips. Ink the edges of the strips using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Adhere the foliage wreath to the middle of the page. Foam square the flower bunch to the right hand side of the foliage wreath. Adhere the two blossom flower to the bottom left of the dark pink/pink flower.
Adhere two of the single flowers to the left and right of the flower bunch as desired. Adhere a leaf to the top right portion of the foliage wreath. Foam square a single flower overtop of the leaf. Adhere the sentiment to the top right inside side of the foliage wreath.

On the top left side of the foliage wreath, adhere three leaves. Foam square three single flowers overtop of the leaves. Adhere the last leaf to the bottom left side of the foliage wreath. Foam square a single flower overtop of the leaf. Adhere the last two single flowers as desired around the top left portion of the foliage wreath.
