Hello everyone! It is Katelyn here with a brand new project! I would consider this a different feel than a majority of my layouts. I think it has a more masculine/vintage feel, but that is also in part from the photos. These photos were all taken at the State House in Annapolis, Maryland. It is a must-see if you are visiting that area. It's filled with history which is what sparked this layout.
I started by picking out some vintage papers from the World's Best 12x12 Paper Pack. I loved the watercolor look to this tile-esque backgroun paper. I laid my photos in a horizontal position to make a block all the way across. I then used the lock and key paper from the same paper pack to create distressed strips for the top and bottom side of the photos. I added some ink to the edges for more definition and color. Underneath those strips of patterned paper, I wanted to add some extra texture and dimension. I decided that this mesh would be a great way to do that.
My title cluster is small since I wanted the photos to be the main focus. I used circular elements to help breakup the rigid elements. I used paper punches and circular brads to emphasize this element. I decorated my cluster with sequins from the Wild Whisper store and some word stickers. To add even more texture, I included some cork hearts. Cork is a simple way to add a lot of texture in a small space.
I balanced out my photos and title cluster, with a small cluster at the top left of the page. I used the same polka dot pattern and a matching gold tag from my stash. I decorated this with the same items, but in different arrangements to give a sense of cohesiveness and texture.
