Today, I wanted to create with the Adventure collection. This was one of my absolute favorite collections when it was released quite some time ago and I love the new and updated version just as much. The colors, styles, and phrases in this collection are just perfect for my crazy crew.
If you know me at all, you know that I love love love a black background for a layout. This wood slices background paper is worth purchasing the entire collection just for that paper. Seriously...I promise! I added some of the arrows paper underneath my photo cluster and on the diagonal at the top and bottom of the layout to add just a pop of color. I also added some textured ribbon I had in my stash to give it some additional dimension. The embellishment pack and pocket page cards provided the majority of my embellishing and the phrases are just perfect for the story I wanted to tell.
My son is definitely not the wild type. He is almost always the most calm, cool, and collected person in any room. He analyzes and studies everyone and everything. For some reason, his dad can get him to pull out a little of his wild side though. He finds a way to encourage him to let loose and be just a little wild and crazy. Those are the elements that I talk about in my journaling for this page and that is why each of these phrase die cuts was just perfect to pull the layout and the story together.
I added a little twig piece that came with the original Adventure collection as well as a few puffy stickers and enamel dots to complete the look but there wasn't much needed by the time I worked with the elements that are part of this collection. I just love collections that coordinate and make the process of creating so cohesive and fun! I hope that you enjoyed seeing my layout and that you will be inspired to create a layout of your own documenting an adventure, time in the great outdoors, or maybe even a family member with a little bit of a wild side to their personality.
