Rachel with Mini Album LOVE Page

Rachel with Mini Album LOVE Page

Rachel is up on the blog today with an adorable page for her mini album! She always makes such elegant pages and we love how she showed that our collections work so well together! She used elements from the Focus on You collection, Rooted Love collection and Adventure collection all in one layout!! Here is Rachel:

Hello!

I've been on a mini album kick lately - when I'm in a creative funk smaller scale pages really help me feel inspired.
I also wanted to share how VERY LITTLE I play with mixed media - I wish I were better at it but I'm really not - gotta know your strengths, am I right?! Anyway, despite my lack of mixed media skills, I'm really happy with this watercolor background. What did I learn from it? That when you're low on paper you can match any embellishments with water color paints - I know for many this is obvious. BUT for the minority of you who are like me and not excited at the prospect of painting on paper - just try it. I chose yellows, grays, and a splash of green paint for my background. I had scraps left over from the "Rooted Love" collection that I used layered behind my picture. I knew I wanted to use some "Adventure" stamps around the border of my picture - I love how the mountain stamp looks peeking out over the top.
As for my wood veneer "love" title, I painted it white and adhered it to my page. I had been wanting to get my hands on it for a long time. I love how bold it looks! To finish my project off, I sprinkled some Salt of the Earth sequins around my page for a little added texture. It came together so quickly.
So, my challenge to you - find some products you want to highlight and create a matching background using water colors! So simple and fun
