Rachel Stewart is sharing a Project Life page that features our latest release: stamps! Many crafters find it challenging to incorporate stamping onto their layouts and pocket pages, but Rachel demonstrates this skill flawlessly. We challenge you to be as brave as she is and try to stamp directly on a photo! The crisp and clean look is just stunning! from here we will let Rachel take it away to explain how she achieves her classic look.
I challenged myself on this pocket spread to only use stamps! And it sure was tough, even for this mostly minimalist crafter - But I love the result. I wanted to really highlight this gorgeous "Adventure" stamp set. My husband and I spend a lot of time adventuring so it really is perfect to document our travels.
For this project I knew my stamping would be prone to smudging so I used Staz-On black ink.
I knew I HAD to use that awesome cut wood circle stamp with all its beautiful wood grain goodness. I stamped it on textured white cardstock cut to fit in a 3x4 pocket. Once the ink had dried, I watercoloured in the negative space. I loved the effect! I added just a tiny sentence of journaling at the bottom.
Then I got crazy and stamped all over my pictures, starting with "Adventure" for my title. This stamp set includes the perfect arrow, which I used to point toward my cute husband! The last stamp I used directly on my pictures was that cute fern-like branch. *You'll notice that I couldn't help myself and had to add a wood veneer branch despite my stamping only challenge* I wanted to add some balance to the white cardstock that I had snuck in, so I stamped that tiny pine tree stamp on a little rectangle and stapled it to the top right pocket.
I love the versatility of stamps in crafting. Grab a good inkpad and do some experimenting. Thanks for joining me today!
Thank you so much to Rachel for showing off such a beautiful and minimalist way to incorporate our new stamps into your pocket scrapbooking album! Be sure to visit her blog and Instagram for more of her wonderful work.
