Pocket Scrapbooking Canada 150 with Karla

Hello and welcome back to the blog today! Karla Yungworth is sharing two pocket pages that document her Canada Day celebrations using the Strong & Free collection. In other posts, our team has shown many ways to use this collection in a unconventional way, but today Karla is showing how well it works for celebrating everything Canadian! From here we will let her take it away!
Hello! It's Karla here today with a double patriotic pocket page layout using the new Strong & Free collection from Wild Whisper. I absolutely love all the amazing Canadian icons on these papers - as well as the beautiful colours and designs that could be used for lots of outdoor adventures as well!
For my first page I'm documenting a Maritime themed restaurant that my husband and I went to for a dinner date the night before Canada Day. We live in the west of Canada, in Alberta, but I'm from Nova Scotia on the east coast, so it's a real treat to get authentic Maritime food!
I decided to add some stamping to the 3x4 and 4x6 pocket cards from the Strong & Free stamp set along with some stitching stamps from the World's Best stamp set. I love how well all the collections work together! The wood veneer maple leaves are so gorgeous, and I love how they add another layer of texture and dimension to the cards.
I added a diecut maple leaf from the Canada 150 logo by uploading an image, cutting with my Cricut Explore and adding it to some of the beautiful 12x12 patterned paper cut to size. Some Strong & Free and Neon Summer sequin mixes along with some Shooting Cork Stars finish off my design!
After supper we went for a walk in downtown Calgary, which was all decorated for Canada Day. It was so great to get some fun photos without all the busyness that July 1st brings!
I had a lot of fun adding some ink smooshing to this beautiful 4x6 Strong & Free card and adding a fussy cut fox using the Strong & Free stamp set and some gorgeous Weathered Wood Embossing Powder.
I slipped the Favourite (love that it's spelled the Canadian way!) journaling card into the pocket after adding some more stamping. I totally love this Strong & Free stamp set!! The cards are such a beautiful weight and are so lovely to write on!
Thanks so much for joining me today!  I would love to hear what you love most about this awesome collection, and hope you have a wonderful week!
