My base is a cork trivet that I picked up at my local dollar store. I covered it in DecoArt Media Black Gesso. Reason I picked black is that after Step 2, I wanted the dark tone to peek through the cracks.
Next I covered the whole piece in DecoArt Media Crackle Paint White. On the top of the piece I added a generous amount of the paint so that I ended up with a large crackle. If my paint was put on thinner, then the crackle would be much finer.
Next I sprayed the middle of the trivet with water, then sprayed it with the purple mister and sopped up the excess liquid with a paper towel. I did this a couple of times to get the desired distressing. Next I mixed 2 colours of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics (Dioxazine Purple and Burnt Umber). Then using a brush I covered the sides and brushed in colour  from the edges.
I matted the photo in white cardstock, distressed and painted the edges. I cut a strip of corrugated cardboard and painted it with DecoArt White Acrylic paint. Add these to the trivet.
Using Heartfelt Creation dies, I cut out the rose pieces from Media Assemblage patterned paper. Then shaped them with the coordinating shaping molds. I used the white space of the same pattern to cut out the leaves.
First add cheesecloth, then the flowers and leaves around the matted photo. Then add buttons and the other chipboard embellishments.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
