Happy Thursday! Khristina here and I am so happy to be back for June creating with all of the amazing Wild Whisper goodies. Just like in April, I want to give you a fun challenge every Thursday in the month.
When I need a jump-start or my creative juices aren't flowing as much as I would like, I often turn to sketches to get things moving. This week, I am creating with a super fun Page Maps Sketch from A Cherry on Top.
This photo was taken of my daughter when she was all dressed up to be the flower girl in a wedding. Starting with a sketch gave me a definite place to begin and I jumped right in with choosing patterned papers from the new Small Patterns release as well as from last month's Forever and Always collection. Many of the paper choices in these two collections work really well together and I just love when that happens!
I used a hexagon punch to create all of my little pieces to follow along with the design in the sketch. I decided to put them on dimensional adhesive to create some added interest and really help them pop! I added dimensional adhesive to my photo as well.
Along the bottom edge of the patterned paper block, I added some crepe paper for texture as well as some white pom pom trim for added dimension and interest. I was able to bring the entire look together and make it even more cohesive by inking all of my edges with tattered rose distress oxide ink. A pre-made title just saying "Love You" added the perfect final touch!
I hope that you enjoyed seeing my very first project with the new Small Patterns collection as well as my use of last month's Forever and Always collection! Please also stop by and check out the process video that goes with this project.
I challenge you to find a sketch that you just love (or use mine) and create a layout this week! I would love to see what you make so make sure to tag me.
