"Love" Layout with Splattered Background by Rachel

Rachel Stewart is back with another project using the Rooted Love collection! We love her centered design using splattering techniques and some Weathered Wood embossing powder from the shop. The bare chipboard stars are also a great addition and Rachel even decided to leave some of the "innards" in the middle star which creates a unique look. From here we will let her take it away!
I knew I wanted to create a supplemental page to go alongside my last pocket spread because I could never give up full layouts! I started by trimming down white cardstock to 9x12 - the size of my project life album. A huge reason I chose this size is so that I could easily trim down 12x12 sheets of paper.
I used some paint splatters and the gorgeous Weathered Wood embossing powder to create my background. I realized in hindsight that stitching a few sequins on the background would look great too!
I began layering scraps of Rooted Love's pocket cards behind the picture I chose - I love how well this line highlights outdoor adventures. I anchored the page with a few scraps stitched at the bottom. I also used a punch to cut some arrows from gray wood patterned scraps. I love the effect!

My favorite part of this page is the chipboard stars. I love them so much! They just look so whimsical. I hot glued those in a vertical design and my page was done. Mixed media backgrounds can add so much but take a relatively short amount of time. Thanks for checking out my project!
