Jenn, Our Guest Designer, is Back!

We are excited to welcome back Jenn Gagne for her second guest designer project this month using the No Place Like Home collection. At first glance we could tell that this was a well designed layout, but after reading Jenn's description about how she made it to reflect the pages of a book, we were blown away by the symbolism! Be sure to check out the process video and her detail images below. From here Jenn will take it away!
When I saw the No Place Like Home card that says "curl up" with the book on it, I just knew I had to do a layout about my second favourite pastime - reading! Curled up under a cozy blanket with a hot cup of tea and a good book really is my happy place.
I started this layout with an idea, but I wasn't sure how to pull it off, so I took a chance and just went for it.  The idea was to give the layout the feeling of being a page in a book.  I painted lines on white piece of cardstock, and added a lot of layers like the pages of a book.  I also sewed a line down the layout, like the central binding of a book, I turned one of the cards into a bookmark, and finally I used dimensional adhesive in between all the layers of paper to add some shape to the pages!
I finished the page by using more of the cards from the collection as layers under the photo, and added a few embellishments like tiny word stickers (because you need words on a book page!) and the super cute cork hearts from Spiegelmom Scraps, available in the Wild Whisper shop. The process was a bit of an adventure, but I really like the results and I had a lot of fun creating this layout.
