Don't get your Tinsel in a Tangle Card by Katelyn G

Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! I'm happy to be back on the blog sharing my Don't get your Tinsel in a Tangle Card which features the Christmas Comfort Collection. To create my project, I've used a variety of the papers from the Christmas Comfort Collection, the Ephemera, the Card Pack and the Flair buttons to create my card. You'll want to grab a glass of your favourite Christmas beverage as I will walk you through how to recreate my piece at home.

From the Fa La La paper, you'll need to cute two pieces, one that measures 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" and a second piece that measures 4 3/4" x 4 3/4". Distress the edges of each patterned paper piece. Ink the edges of each patterned paper piece using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the red/white star paper, cut a piece that measures 5" x 5". Distress the edges. Ink the edges of the patterned paper using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the burlap paper, cut a piece that measures 4 1/2" x 4 1/2". Place a tree stencil onto the paper. Apply Emboss It Ink through the stencil randomly. Take the stencil off. Sprinkle Pine Needles Embossing Powder overtop of the stenciled images. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Distress the edges of the paper. Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the white dot paper, cut a piece that measures 2 3/4" x 2 1/4". Distress the edges of the paper. Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose two border strips. Cut one border strip to 4 1/2". Cut the second border strip to 4 1/4". Ink the edges of the border strips using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the cut apart paper, fussy cut the two branches out and the star square. Distress the edges of the square. Ink the edges of the branch and square using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink.

Out of the card pack, fussy cut the branch and cut a piece from the black jeep card that measures 3/4" x 1 1/2". Distress the edges of the square. Ink the edges of the branch and square using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Ephemera pack, you'll need a large bow, the don't get your tinsel saying, cut out three presents and cut out one arrow. Distress the edges of the saying. Ink the edges of the saying and fussy cut images using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose one of the Flair button.

The last element you need is a doily. Now we will move on to assembling the card.

Adhere the red/white star paper to the 5 1/4" Fa La La paper. Adhere the jeep paper to the red/white star paper. Adhere the burlap paper to the jeep paper.

Foam square the doily 1/2" from the top and all the way to the left edge of the Fa la la paper. Adhere the star square 1 1/8" from the top and 7/8" from the left of the Fa la la paper. Adhere the jeep square 1 7/8" from the top and 1 3/8" from the right of the Fa la la paper.

Adhere the don't get your tinsel saying to the white paper. Foam square the white dot paper 1 1/2" from the top and 1 7/8" from the right of the Fa la la paper.

Adhere the 4 1/2" border strip 1 1/4" from the bottom and right to the right edge of the Fa la la paper. Adhere the 4 1/4" border strip 7/8" from the bottom and right to the right edge of the Fa la la paper. Wrap red twine three times around the middle of the two borders. Tie a knot on the right hand side.

Adhere the three branches to the left of the saying square.

Adhere the bow to the middle right of the saying. Adhere the arrow underneath of the saying.

Adhere the flair button overtop of where the bottom of the branches meet. Adhere the three presents around the flair button.

To finish off the card, cut a piece of white cardstock that measures 5 1/2" x 11, score at 5 1/2". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.
