If you have been around here for a bit, you know that I love quick and easy impactful layouts. Creating for just a few minutes (15 is the goal) a day is SO helpful for your mindset, wellbeing, and ability to handle all the things. With that being said, let's make a quick and easy layout with just one sheet of patterned paper, one sheet of cardstock, and a few embellishments. The paper that I chose to use was from Pam Bray's Sensations collection.
I started out with a sheet of black cardstock (you could totally use white cardstock as well) and then I took my 12x12 patterned paper and cut it up into 3x3 squares. I only needed 1/2 of a sheet but you may need more or less depending on how many photos you want to include. Before glueing, I took my scissors and distressed the edges with the blade of my scissors.
Once I glued the squares into my grid and decided where my photos would sit, I took my sewing machine and added some stitching to most of the blocks. This is a quick and easy way to add some extra texture and interest.
After that, it was just a matter of adding a few embellishments. I wanted to place for a little bit of journaling so I added a strip of patterned paper. I also keep a little basket on my desk full of things that I have fussy-cut which included the paper stars and little tickets.
I also added just a couple of die cuts and some cork stars. For a finishing touch, I simply took some distress paint and made some bright orange splatters that would enhance the mixed media look of this layout. seriously so fast and easy!
