Cathy`s Travel Trinket Box

Hellooo blog readers! We are thrilled to currently be en route to Phoenix, Arizona for Creativation RIGHT NOW! We can`t wait to share all about it and will be posting live videos to update you, so make sure to follow us on FacebookInstagram, and YouTube!
Cathy Potosky has a very appropriately timed travel project to share today! We will let her take it from here!
January is going way to fast! Anyone else feel that way?! I am back today to share with you my latest project. This one features one of my favorite collections, Out & About and the brand new Trinket Box, Book and Frame Die from Eileen Hull.
I used Stick It Adhesive to attach my Out & About paper to my mat board and then cut it out with the new die.I edged all my pieces with Distress Ink in Black Soot and put my pieces together. I used the oval piece from another cut out of the die (it is a mover and shaper that comes with the die) and sponged it with Forget me Not, Tiger Lily and Butter Cup from Wendy Vecchi's archival line. I used images from the Out & About stamp set.
I created a little travel notebook to put inside the box. The spine is a piece of matching paper that I cut at 4" tall (same as the cards from the card pack) and it's also 4" long. I then scored it every 1/4' and folded it accordian style. I attached one card for the back cover and one for the front. I also added one in the center for a bit of stability. With the rest of the spaces you can add pictures or bits and bobs from your travels. I did not add any extras because I still haven't decided if it's a gift for someone or if it's all for me LOL
I put the booklet aside and started adding pretty things to my trinket box. For the closure I used a camera charm I found in my stash, attached it with a small piece of ribbon and let it hang over the top edge. I also used a small piece of velcro on the back of the camera so it would stay closed. I popped on my oval that was already stamped and dyed and it covers the edges of my ribbon closure.
On the top I added flowers from my stash (I really love flowers and my stash is getting low!) and added the sign post signs with foam tape for dimension.
And here is the finished trinket box!!
And just a couple more close ups of the flowers and the booklet inside the box.
Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to check in often because new collections and projects are coming!

Cathy, saw this project on your blog and had to come over to see how you made it, what a brilliant idea to add the little booklets inside of the Trinket Box and Wild Whispers papers were absolutely perfect for your travel theme. Thanks so much for sharing it, Deb xo
