Today, I just wanted to play with stamps. There are some amazing stamps from the latest collections and I love the idea of combining something just a little unexpected. SO....I grabbed two of my favorites from Nicole Wright (have I mentioned that I am a super fan of hers?!?) and combined them together to create a really bright, fun traveler's notebook page. This could totally 100% be adapted to a scrapbook layout with just as amazing of a look!
I started with some white cardstock already pre-cut to traveler's notebook size and then trimmed just a hair to add the diagonal black and white stripe behind it. I knew that this look would look great with a black and white photo and this one of my daughter in the pool seemed perfect.
Then, I used my stamping tool and the 6x6 Splotch stamp from Nicole Wright to create a really colorful background. I didn't stamp the splotches perfectly because I wanted the look to be messy. I applied my ink directly on the stamp and just used lots of different colors (and made a total mess on myself and the stamp if I'm being completely honest!)
Then, I grabbed some black ink and the Fanciful Bloom Stamp Set and stamped a few flowers directly on the pink and blue patterned papers from Pay Bray's Sensations paper pack. I fussy cut those flowers and used dimensional adhesive to help them stand up off the page. Once I knew where I wanted them, I went ahead and added some fun whimsical vines to each flower.
Now all I needed to add was a cute foam thicker title and a few foam icons as well as some black Nuvo drops and I consider this one done. I just love the bright, playful feel of the background and the way that the gorgeous flowers just bring everything together.
It's time for a little challenge for you.....grab some stamps and create a really bright, fun background! I would love to see what you create.
