Rachel Lowe is back today with another gorgeous layout featuring Wild Whimsy! We adore this layout and the cut file is a must-see! Rachel will take it from here!
Hello my crafty friends I have another creation using the gorgeous new collection, Wild Whimsy, by Wild Whisper Designs! I love this photo of my daughter playing in the ocean and this inspired my layout, Mermaid Hair Don't Care!
I have used a cut file from JustNick Studio called Totally Tubular. This is the circles, totally fabulous and allows you to be so creative when filling them as I have.
I then set about paper piecing the circles, adding the gorgeous mermaid, sea flower and shell which are from the 4x6 Wild Whimsy cards. I then cut two 1 inch paper strips and attached to the top and bottom of my layout. I wanted to create the illusion of a sky and sea, hence why I used the blue paper.
I then attached my paper pieced cut file and machine sewed around each circle to add texture and definition. To ensure my photo remained the feature of my layout I added a round scallop paper frame. I then got fussy cutting!
I fussy cut my title 'Mermaid Hair Don't Care' from one of the 4x6 cards, I fussy cut some of the gorgeous sea flowers and attached all with foam tape to add more height to my layout. I lightly splattered some black and turquoise colour shine over my layout (covering my photo) diagonally.
I folded the scallop paper frame upwards and inwards again to ensure visually your eye would be drawn to the photo.
I add sequins around my title to ensure your eye was drawn to it and so it would be a feature of the layout. I add one single sequin to the centre of the blue/Black Sea flower (because I like bling!).
I love how classy this collection is, you can either keep it clean and classic as I have or go wonderfully mixed media, it really is up to you and your style!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope this layout inspires you in some to create your very own ocean and mermaid layout!
