Noel Banner by Katelyn G

Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! I'm excited to be back on the blog today sharing my Noel Banner which features the brand new Back to Basics Collection as well as the Christmas Comfort Collection. To create my banner, I've used the Back to Basics Cardstock, the Christmas Comfort Paper Pack, the ephemera and the card pack. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite holiday beverage as I will walk you through how to recreate my piece at home.

To start, you'll need the red and blue paper from the Back to Basics Cardstock. Die cut two 4" Stitched Fishtails out of the red cardstock paper. Die cut two 4" Stitched Fishtails out of the blue cardstock paper. Ink the edges of all four banners using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

With the red and blue cardstock paper still out, die cut two 2 3/4" stitched circles out of the red cardstock paper. Die cut two 2 3/4" stitched circles out of the blue cardstock paper. Next, you'll need the Capital Letters, take out the N, O, E and L. Apply Emboss It Ink to the N and stamp onto one of the blue circles. Apply Emboss It Ink to the E and stamp onto one of the blue circles. Apply Emboss It Ink to the O and stamp onto one of the red circles. Apply Emboss It Ink to the E and stamp onto one of the red circles. Sprinkle Pine Dreams Embossing Powder overtop of each circle. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Ink the edges of all four circles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose two patterned papers from the Christmas Comfort Paper Pack. From the first patterned paper piece, die cut two 3 1/2" Stitched Fishtails. From the second patterned paper piece, die cut two 3 1/2" Stitched Fishtails. Ink the edges of all four banners using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the cut apart paper out of the Christmas Comfort paper pack, fussy cut the branch with berries out. Ink the edges of the branch using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the ephemera Christmas Comfort pack, you'll need the jeep, two red starburst, one bow, two large branches with berries and eight branches. If desired, fussy cut the branches, the falala and jeep out. Ink the edges of all the images using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Out of the Christmas Comfort Card Pack, you'll need to cut out three arrows, a truck with a tree, a bow and eight presents. Ink the edges of all of the images using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

The last element you'll need is four doilies.

Adhere one of the 3 1/2" stitched fishtail to the 4" red stitched fishtail. Foam square a doily to the middle of the 3 1/2" stitched fishtail. Adhere the three arrows to the middle of the doily. Foam square the N circle to the middle of the doily. Adhere the truck with a tree to the bottom left hand side of the circle.

Adhere the other 3 1/2" patterned paper stitched fishtail to the 4" blue stitched fishtail. Foam square a doily to the middle of the 3 1/2" stitched fishtail. Adhere one red starburst in the top left corner of the doily. Adhere the other red starburst in the bottom right hand corner of the doily. Foam square the O circle to the middle of the doily. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere five presents to the bottom left hand side of the circle. Adhere the large bow to the top of the O circle.

Adhere the same 3 1/2" patterned paper stitched fishtail that was used on the N fishtail, to the 4" red stitched fishtail. Foam square a doily to the middle of the 3 1/2" stitched fishtail. Adhere the branches with berries to the middle of the doily. Foam square the E circle to the middle of the doily, making sure you can still see parts of the branches. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the Falala to the bottom right hand side of the circle.

Adhere the same 3 1/2" patterned paper stitched fishtail that was used on the O fishtail, to the 4" blue stitched fishtail. Foam square a doily to the middle of the 3 1/2" stitched fishtail. Foam square the L circle to the middle of the doily. Adhere the bow to the top of the L circle. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the presents in the bottom left hand corner of the L circle. Foam square the jeep to the right hand corner of the L circle.

To finish off your banner, punch two holes at the top of each stitched fishtail. String twine through the top of each stitched fishtail to create the banner.
