Hope Blooms by Jenn

Hello Wild Whisper Family, Jenn here!!!  This week I've paired my design team layout with today's sketch from Christy's 30 Days of Sketches series as well as the Scrapbooking from the Heart series, where the prompt for March is Hope!

I think Hope is a great word for this month, where Spring begins.  Even in these times where we still aren't quite sure exactly what tomorrow will bring, Spring gives us a feeling hopefullness.  The sun shines a little more, our days are a little longer, and the first little glimmer of new life is popping up all around.  I knew this would be a great opportunity to scrapbook some pictures of my garden using Wild Whispers Play In The Dirt collection.  To me, flowers are the embodiment of hope!  You plant these little tiny seeds and patiently (or maybe not so patiently for some!) tend them, nurture them, care for them, and wait for them to grow.  You do your part, and wait for your flowers to bloom.  Hope is the same way.  It takes a little bit of nurturing and care to maintain, but with some patience and time, Hope Blooms and it's a beautiful thing :)

I had several small photos of different flowers from my front garden so I cut them into strips and placed them all horizontally in the middle of my white cardstock background.  They became the border between the pattern paper at the bottom of the sketch, and the white at the top.  I used three cards from the Play In The Dirt Journal Card Pack to fill in the space under the photos instead of using pattern paper.  I used some flower die cuts from the House Ephemera pack to embellish around the layout, as well as a flair from the Garden set, some butterfly stickers from Maggie Holmes and some sequins from the exclusive Play In The Dirt mix created by SpeigelMom Scraps.

I added my title, Hope Blooms using some Dear Lizzy foam alphas in a beautiful copper colour.  In the sketch there are a few little layers behind the photos but since my photos run the whole length of the page, I decided to add some layers to the top edge of the photos and this gave me a good spot to tuck in a little envelope with some hidden journalling and my thoughts on hope.  I finished the layout off with some gold splatters all over.  This layout came together so quickly using the sketch as a reference.  I loved that as I put it together I took the time to reflect on a deeper meaning than just the flowers in the photo.  Do you like to document deeper thoughts with your layouts?  What would you scrapbook to represent hope?  I'd love to know!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by, if you'd like to see how this layout was put together, head over to my Youtube Channel to see the process video.  Remember that you can use my discount code DTJENN at checkout to get 10% off your purchase of the Play In The Dirt collection or any other goodies you find the Wild Whisper Store!!!  Until next time, Happy Scrapping :)
