Home Bodies Layout Tutorial by Alexandria

Alexandria Goodman is back today sharing a tutorial on her latest layout created using the No Place Like Home collection. She has included some fun elements from this month's embellishment release and we just love how her project came together! From here we will let Alexandria take it away!

I started out by going through my tray of supplies and picking out some pieces from the new No Place Like Home collection of papers, cards and coordinating wood veneers. The cork heart confetti is hands down one of my favourite embellishments that they have available in the shop, both the large and small hearts and knew I wanted to find a place for them here.
I picked out the house pattern paper to use as my background and printed a photo of Jon, Gracie and I curled up on the couch. It was a little too busy against the photo, so I cut down some of the other papers I'd pulled from the pack.
I cut and layered two of the papers to create a mat for my photo, a journal card and possibly the "home" wood veneer. I'm a huge fan of grids, and straight lines so I left them the full 12" width.
I swapped out the house 4x6 card for two 3x4 cards that would create a home for my story and tie the home theme together. I had planned to put the wood veneer between the journal card and the photo. I accidentally snapped the wood veneer (which I do more often than I'd like to admit) but was able to glue it back together.

My finished layout looks significantly different than I'd originally wanted it to. I fussy cut the house from the 4x6 journal card and adhered it between the photo and the journal card using foam squares. I added another paper layer to my stack and added some cork hearts around my layout. I added the home wood veneer under the house and journaled my story on the "let's stay home" card. I actually forgot to add the date, but I'll go back and add it to the "home sweet home" card.

Thank you so much to Alexandria for sharing her incredible work today! If you would like to be further inspired by her, be sure to check out her blog and Instagram.
