Grateful For You by Jenn

Grateful For You by Jenn

Hello Jenn here, wishing you all a very Happy Canadian Thanksgiving :)  I hope you are all having a lovely long weekend filled with delicious food and good company (as safely as you can!).  For today's layout I combined one of my favourite collections, Sweater Weather, with the fall Fall elements from Strength of the Season, and put them together using the Day 12 sketch from Christy's 30 Days of Sketches series!!!

I started by using some Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Oxides to add some orange, red, and yellow across the background paper.  I used a sponge applicator and just blended the colours across the paper, then sprinkled them with some water to create that fun water drop effect.  This gave my fox paper from Sweater Weather the perfect border on top and bottom so it would stand out nicely from the white background paper.  I used strips of the two leaf papers from Strength of the Season to run vertically along the right hand side of the layout, just like in the sketch.  I added two branding strips from Sweater Weather to the bottom of the fox paper as well, just for some added interest.  Instead of creating a grid, like in the sketch, I only used one photo, of my Fox back in Fall 2015, and then added layers of leaves and pumpkins on either side of the photo to make the entire cluster longer and give it a similar feel to the sketch.  There were die cuts from K&Company, little velum leaves from some table scatter I found at Dollar Tree, and some wood veneer leaves from Stampin' Up.  I fussy cut the large fox from one of the 4x3 Sweater Weather  journal cards and popped him up on foam squares to sit on top of my leaves and pumpkins.  He's so cute, and I love that he is about the same size as Fox is in the photo :)

I added another journal card to the top of the picture, that says Always Thankful, and layered a tag and label with it.  I tucked another piece of the tag to the right side of the photo, and a third down at the bottom left side of the fox paper to create a little title cluster.  I used a die cut from Simple Stories as my title and placed it over that bottom tag, layered with another label so I could add a little bit of journaling.  The die cut piece had some black and white plaid so I cut a row from the top and bottom to add a little of the same plaid to the other two clusters in my layout.  My finishing touch was some Exclusive Wild Whisper sequins from SpeigelMom Scraps.  I think Fall might be my favourite thing to scrapbook.  I just love how leaves and pumpkins layer together, and all the cute little animals and elements you can tuck into the layout.  I think turned out foxtastic (yes, I did just say that!!! lol)

Along with the process for how I put this together, you can find a little haul of all the new Wild Whisper goodies I have from this quarter's release so be sure to stop by my Youtube channel!!!  And you can use my discount code DTJENN for 10% off of your next purchase, as well.  Thank you all so much for your amazing support over the last few years and to Heather and Suzy for letting me be apart of this amazing team, I am so grateful for you all :)  Happy Thanksgiving, and until next time, Happy Scrapping!!!
