Alexandria uses Sweater Weather!

Happy fall ya'll! We hope you are enjoying good weather and colourful scenery wherever you are (or a good Spring for those around the other side of the globe). Today we have Alexandria Goodman sharing a creative layout with the Sweater Weather collection. We love how she stitched some artificial fall leaves onto her layout! From here we will let her take it away!

As soon as my package arrived, I shoved some things on my desk out to the edges so I could spread out these beautiful papers and cards. I printed a couple of photos, and started out on top of some project Life spreads I'm trying to get finished.

As soon as I saw the 4x6 card with this cute little mug, I knew I wanted to fussy cut it and use it. It was non-negotiable and I had to make it work no matter what.

I didn't really have a plan, but I remembered I had these leaves in my stash. I picked them up from Michaels I think, they were from the floral section, and I was intending to use them for that, but last year I cut them apart and decided to use them on some scrapbook projects. I had some with the stiff stem cut off, so I did the same to a few others to make them sit a little flatter and decrease the bulk.
I gravitate to simple patterns and neutrals, so I trimmed the wheat pattern paper to about 6-inches and layered it over the blue paper. I trimmed a photo to square (4x4) and used the cup to hide the edge of my bag in the photo. I love hiding things with embellishments.
The leaves are crooked, but I'm embracing them anyways. I ran some tape down the length of my background paper and stuck the leaves. Just enough to hold them in place.
And then I stitched them down to make sure they wouldn't come off. I pull the threads to the back and tie them in a knot and secure with washitape. My stitching was crooked (like the leaves), but I layered my other paper to hide the stitching.
I wanted to make a list of things I love about fall, so I made some little word strips.
And I put everything together with some cork numbers from my stash. I'm that weirdo who hoards number sets because I rarely make lists, and I hate having one random number leftover. This was a set of 9, so I wrote 9 things I love about fall. Ironic that I mention wearing boots, but the photo was taken on a warmer day when I was wearing flats.
Have a great day!
