Hi everyone!
Today I'm sharing a card that I made for Mother's Day, but it could be used for birthdays, hello's, etc as well.
This card was created with Pam Bray's Sensations paper collection and stamp set. I started by stamping and colouring the beautiful floral image with copics.
These are the Copic markers I used on this card: BG0000, 000, 01, 02, 45, 49, 57. E15, 17, 18, 19, 40, 41, 43, 84. R22. 24. 27. 29. Y000, 21, 23, 26. YR30. YG 17, 91, 93, 95.
Since I was keen to use my new stencil "Circlet" by Nicole Wright, I decided to create a background with it. I taped it down and used Copic marker BG0000 to colour in all the circles.
I was SO happy with the result.
To create mats for the image, I layered several pieces of the patterned paper together and glued a little bit of lace along the side.
I added a few more embellishments: Sensations Flair and Sassy Since Birth sequins, plus a little red bow and another small piece of lace tucked under the flair button. The pretty leaves were cut from the patterned paper. I also added highlights to my coloured image with a white Posca pen. (This was my first time doing this and I was terrified I would ruin my image but I loved the end results!)
I hemmed and hawed over how to add a sentiment to the front, and finally decided to keep it simple with the word "MOM" which I diecut from the patterned paper using the set "Slim Alphabet Die" from The Greetery.
I found this tool by Wendy Vecchi, to be very handy to line the letters up on the front of the card (you sure don't want a "fail" at that point of making the card). It's called the Make Art Stay-tion. The Paper and Art Boutique will be re-stocking it in two different sizes this week: 12"x12" and 7"x7". It's a great tool!
I mounted the card on a 100# cardstock base, in an easel style, and it looks very pretty standing on a shelf or table... something the recipient can enjoy for quite awhile!
Thanks for stopping by today. I'm sure everyone is looking forward to the upcoming May long weekend. Whether you are a camper, a gardener, or a backyard sunbather... I hope it is a lovely one for you!
