Foodie TN layouts by Jenn

Hello, Jenn here with more Talk Foodie to Me fun!!!  In celebration of Canada's May long weekend (we call it May 2-4 weekend) I have a 2-4 one blog post today!  Ha ha, see what I did there?  Ok, enough of the Mom jokes, let's get to the projects :)

For my first layout, I started by going through the 4x3 cards from the Talk Foodie to Me card pack.  I picked out a few cards to create layers behind my photo.  I cut the cards to be able to create a second cluster on the other page using all the same colours from the photo cluster.  Before adhering the photo cluster to the page, I stamped the label stamp around the page to create a little interest in the background.  It's tricky to stamp directly onto the TN page when it's in the middle of the notebook because the pages don't lie flat with all the layers and embellishment on the pages behind it, so I knew that my stamping might not be very sharp, but that is ok with me!  A trick to help with that is to put something hard behind your page, like a large stamping block, to give yourself a flat surface for your stamping, or you could stamp on a blank page and fussy cut around your image to create a die cut!  I used a stamping block behind the paper to stamp the 'made from scratch' stamp around the page.

I stuck down the photo cluster to the left page and then created a title cluster on the other page, using the left over pieces of the cards.  I fussy cut around the pink hexagons and arranged the cluster over top of the stamping.  I also went through the ephemera pack to pick out a few pieces to embellish with.  I found a die cut that says 'street food' which is perfect for this picture, of my husband cooking at a local street food festival in our town, and another that says 'eat local'.  To finish the layout I added some sequins from the exclusive Talk Foodie to Me set for a little sparkle.

In my second layout I used the yellow paper with the large hexagons as my background.  Because I had already used a piece from this paper, I couldn't cover both sides of the TN insert, so I cut a strip of the blue mason jar paper to add to the left hand side of the layout.  I created title cluster on the left page, around the 4x3 card that says 'count the memories not the calories'.  I cut the label from another card for my journalling, and added a strip of the Smarties pattern from the back of the label card.  On top of the label I put a doughnut from the ephemera pack, and a piece of the manufacturers strip that says 'Talk Foodie to Me'.

On the right hand side, I stuck my picture onto the yellow background paper, then used some more ephemeral to create an embellishment cluster at the top of the photo, and one die cut at the bottom of the photo.  I thought the doughnuts worked well for pictures from one of our favourite breakfast places because, well, doughnuts remind me of breakfast!  I also cut a piece from another manufacturer's strip that says 'cute and hungry' to add to the embellishment cluster.  I thought the Julie Child quote worked well at the bottom of the picture because it looks cute, adds a third spot for the Smarties pattern, and well, it's true, people who love to eat really ARE the best people <3

And that's it for my double project post today!!!  Both layouts are really simple but this collection makes them so much fun.  Between the bright colours, and fun images, and the perfect sayings in the quotes and ephemera pack, this collection, I just love how well this collection compliments all of my foodie pictures :)  Remember to use DTJENN at checkout for 10% off your next purchase in the Wild Whisper store, and hop on over to my Youtube channel to see the process video on how these two layouts all came together.  Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time, Happy Scrapping :)
