Hi Friends and Happy Holidays!
I absolutely love this time of year and so do my kids. It's not even about the gifts or the visits from Santa; it is really about the fact that we always make an extra effort to have intentional family time and holiday activities all throughout the month that they love the most. This layout is a prime example of some festive treats in progress that even the little guy got involved with!
I love to create holiday layouts that are a combination of holiday and non-holiday products alike! For this layout, I started with two patterned papers from the Wild Whisper Baubles and Bows Collection from Nicole Wright. I wanted to spice up the ornaments a little bit so I used my ink pads and a blending brush to add some color to some of the lights. I purposely colored outside the lines to give the appearance of a "glow" around them. I then took some stamps and added some additional details to my colored spaces.
I then used a bunch of label stickers all stacked up to create an area where I could build a fun title. I chose thickers that matched my style and color choices and then used a red marker to create a bold outline to help the title stand out. I then mimicked this same labels element on the top right corner of the layout beneath my photo.
I then took a gold paint pen and added a few hand-drawn details to carry over the Christmas lights string detail from the other side of the layout. I also added a bunch of enamel dots to mimic the look of the light strands as well. I used that same paint pen to add a few doodles of plus signs throughout the layout to tie everything together.
This was a super easy layout to create on a short timeframe that really packs a punch! And isn't that cake face just the cutest thing?!?! I hope that you and your family will have an amazing holiday season and that you will be intentional about creating and documenting family moments.
xoxo,
Khristina
