Christmas Adventure ft. Pam Bray's Winter and Christmas collection by Jenn

Hello Wild Whisper family!  I hope you all had a lovely December holiday and start to your new year :) Things got a little busier at our house as we welcomed a new little guy into the family for adoption.  It's been very fun having a 15 month old in the house again and slowly but surely we are finding our new family routine.

For my layout this week I really wanted to pull out Pam Bray's Winter and Christmas 6x6 papers.  I didn't get a chance to do much Christmas scrapbooking over the holidays so this was a great opportunity to pull out some past Christmas memories and get them scrapped!  I don't often use busy papers like these, but I think they are absolutely stunning and the perfect fit for some pictures I have of our visit to the Banff Christmas market in 2019.  I decided to cut the papers into 2x2 squares and create a design around my photo that showed off the beautiful colours of Pam's papers with a good balance of white space.  For me, when I have busy patterns, or photo-realistic papers, I like to have a lot of whitespace that gives your eyes time to take in the patterns and images without feeling overwhelmed.

I put my picture down first, and then placed my 2x2 squares around it randomly.  I used mostly the green holly and evergreen papers and added a few squares of the pointsettia paper for pops of red.  My picture has a lot of red in it, so the mostly green papers really work nicely as a contrast to that and then the pops of red dotted around really make the picture stand out.  I didn't use a ruler or try too hard to make everything line up perfectly because my picture isn't a perfect square, but if you like to have all of your lines exact, you can definitely do that by cropping your photo 4x4 or 6x6.  You could also use multiple small 2x2 photos and dot them around the page in place of some of the pattern papers.

To embellish, I popped a few random squares up with foam dots to add some dimension.  I used the Christmas Comfort stamp set to stamp some words, like Merry and Falala into the open spaces between squares, along with some leaves, and a star.  I added some wooden circles, and leaves ephemera from the newest release of the Adventure collection, and used the word Adventure as part of my title.  I finished the layout with a scattering of sequins in reds, greens, and golds.  This layout was really quick and easy to put together.  The simplicity of it really allows the gorgeous papers to shine through.

Pam Bray has several collections available right now with Wild Whisper, in both 6x6 and 12x12 papers, along with some stunning stamp sets.  You can get 10% off of these products and everything else in the store by using my discount code, DTJENN at checkout so be sure to head over to the store and check it all out.  You can also see how I pulled this layout together by visiting my Youtube channel for the process video :)  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Until next time, Happy Scrapping!!!

Jenn :)
