Hello friends! Karla back today to share a retro layout with you using the fabulous new Fandom Collection from Wild Whisper Designs! I just love how many different ways you can use this collection. This is the third layout I've shared using it and all of them have been so very different, but I honestly can't pick my favourite... I love them all! I focused on the cassette tape and star images in the paper and stamp set to match the 80's vibe I was going for on this fun slumber party layout. My mom always let us have the most amazing sleepovers, and I'm sure we kept her awake late into the night, but I don't remember ever getting in trouble or being told to keep it down. There was a lot of 'dress up' fun and giggles, and scrapbooking these photos brought back lots of good memories. I think that right there is one of my favourite reasons for scrapbooking - taking the time to stop and remember and be thankful for those little things. (PS I'm the third one in from the right on the far right photo, lol)
I used the Back To Basics Capital Letter Stamp Set and the Blue Island Slush Embossing Powder to create a title at the top of the page. I am in love with this fantastic blue powder!! The tiny cassette tapes stamped so perfectly and I love the detail! I used Distress Oxide inks to stamp them on a blue background and decided not to colour them in. I used some of the yummy Pineapple Paradise Embossing Powder along the edge of my purple paper to give a fun glittery effect. This powder too is amazing and has such a cool texture!
I layered one of the cassettes from the cut apart sheet in the 12x12 paper pack over a cork sheet from my stash. I added other cork embellishments around the page to coordinate and wrapped a bit of hemp twine around the Cassette Flair . A few sequins around the page add just the right amount of bling - though I'm sure nothing can compete with our hair doo's ;)
