I started creating my layout with the large layered border. I cut a piece of white cardstock that is 6x12. Then I cut the patterned paper into strips of colour that are also 6" wide. Then I distressed the long edges of all of the colour strips. I began adhering the colour strips to the white cardstock, alternating between regular adhesive and foam adhesive. This way it adds some interesting dimension in the background.
Then I added some patterned strips to the side of the layered border. Adhere just off-centre. Then I added simple borders to both side of the layout. I double matted my cropped photo in white cardstock and added kraft photo corners. Adhere to the layout using foam tape.
I cut one of the small cards from the card pack in half. Adding the sentiment to the top of the matted photo, and the bottom part below the matted photo with a torn edge.
I fussy cut lots of white and black wood slice pieces and placed them around the layout.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
