Mini Album with Jenn

Hello, Jenn here :)  How are you all doing?  My family is still doing their best to make the most of our quarantine time together.  The kids have been busy with school work, Zoom class meetings, Zoom dance classes, and finding creative ways to keep the boredom at bay.  I've really enjoyed being able to homeschool with them, take dance classes with them, and having some extra crafty time.  My hubby has been spoiling us with delicious meals that we actually get to sit down and eat together every single suppertime.  We are definitely doing our best to focus on all the positive things happening in our life right now.

I have three little 4x6 Project Life cards to share with you today.  These cards are all part of a mini album that I am making of my daughter's dance competition season last year.  I've been playing along with Christy from Christy's Beautiful Life's ABC Scrappy Challenge to create this mini album and thought it would be really fun to use some Wild Whisper products to create a few cards.  Christy is going through the alphabet and assigning scrappy products or concepts that begin with each letter.  I am up to letters E, F, and G.  E is for ephemera so I pulled out my Iris container of Wild Whisper ephemera.  I chose ephemera from the Florals collection for the first card because F is for frames and florals.  There are two cute floral frames in the ephemera pack so I pulled those out first.

I put one of the frames around the photo of my daughter standing in her little pop-up Ikea tent that she uses for hanging costumes and changing.  I had to cut the frame to make it fit perfectly around the photo and then just pieced it back together.  I covered my PL card with the burgundy and grey stripped paper from Fur Babies because I felt that the colours worked much better with the floral ephemera I wanted to use.  I placed a cluster of the florals to the right side of the picture.  I love the gorgeous jewel tones of the flowers.  I used a stamp from Focus on You to heat emboss the words Strong Brave Fierce in Midnight Magic embossing powder from Emerald Creek.  I cut that out and placed overtop of the picture and florals to create a little title.  To finish this card I used a few SpiegelMom Scraps sequins on the flowers, then outlined the card and journaled with a white chalk pen.

For my second card I added the letter G which is for Globe.  I used globe from the Where To Next ephemera pack, along with the phrase 'where to next', and some suitcases to create a little cluster above my photo which is a selfie of the family ready to set out on a roadtrip to a competition.  I added the earth flair to the cluster as well for some dimension to really give the feeling of a round globe.  For my journalling, I cut a piece of white cardstock into a little banner shape and tucked it into the cluster.  Lastly, I used some blue and teal mist to splatter around the card, in the same way that the globe ephemera had some little splatters on it!  I normally wouldn't have thought to put a globe on a layout that documents a trip within my same province, but I think it works really well to highlight to idea of travel being an important part of the dance competition experience.

My third card is on the back of the second card.  It's a shot of the road ahead of us and the amazing blue skies and prairie we were driving through.  I added the second frame form the Florals ephemera over the middle of the picture.  I put another round globe from the Where to Next ephemera right where the road meets the horizon, then added the metal road trip license plate from the Road Trip collection on top of the globe.  I used another small floral in the top left and bottom right corners of the frame, then journalled in the little open space left above the picture where the frame was too big.  It's such a simple card, but I just love how it all came together :)

Please stop by my channel to see how I pulled all of these cards together and to see them in the mini album.  You can also use the discount code DTJENN to get 10% off of your purchase of these and all the other amazing Wild Whisper products!!!  Thanks so much for popping in, until next time, be safe and Happy Scrapping :D
