Like Wild Flowers Altered Thread Spool by Katelyn

Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! For today's project, I've created this pretty altered thread spool perfect to add to any area of your home. To create my Like Wild Flowers Altered Thread Spool, you'll need the Paper Pack, Ephemera and Flair from the Happy Tails Collection as well as the Ephemera from the Strength of the Season Collection. Grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my altered thread spool at home.
To start, you'll need a 1" wide thread spool. Use Gathered Twigs Distress Stain to colour the top and bottom of the spool as well as the edges. Once the spool has dried, adhere a memo pin into the center of the spool.
From the Happy Tails Flair, choose one of the buttons.
From the Strength of the Season Ephemera, take out the like wild flowers square piece. Ink the edges of the square using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Happy Tails Paper Pack, choose one of the border strips from the bottom of the paper. Cut a border strip down to 3". Ink the edges of the border strip using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Happy Tails Paper Pack, choose one of the patterned papers. Cut a piece that measures 7/8" x 3". Ink the edges of the paper using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Happy Tails Paper Pack, you'll need the two cut apart papers. From one of the cut apart paper, fussy cut the grey outline flower and the grey outline leaf bunch. From the other cut apart paper, fussy cut the black outline flower and two of the black outline leaf bunches. Ink the edges of the fussy cut images using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Happy Tails Ephemera, you'll need to fussy cut two small flowers, two leaves and four hearts. Ink the edges of the fussy cut images using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Adhere the 7/8" paper strip around the center of the spool. Adhere the border strip around the middle of the 7/8" paper.
Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere two hearts and the flair button to the middle front of the spool.

Slip the Like Wild flowers quote through the memo pin. Adhere the grey outlined flower to the right hand side of the quote. Adhere a small black leaf and black leaf bunch to the top right portion of the flower.  Adhere the black outlined flower to the left hand side of the quote. Adhere a small black leaf and black leaf bunch to the top left portion of the flower. Adhere the remaining leaf bunch in the middle of where the two flowers meet.
Adhere one of the hearts to the bottom right side of the Like Wild Flowers quote as desired. Adhere the other heart to the bottom left side of the Like Wild Flowers quote as desired.
To finish off the altered spool, adhere the two small flowers at the bottom of the memo pin on the thread spool.
Here are a few closeup photos of the finished altered thread spool.
